Yet another meanwhile

Having been the only one that wasn’t there when Cyprus and Reset fused together, Void decided to visit the area himself. Not that it’d do much good.

image

The deed was done by a pitiful soulless creature whose only end goal was to cause harm. Leave it to a blue timeline to have their greatest evil come in the form of a flower.

image

Cruelty can come in such delicate and unsuspecting forms.

image

But not always.

image

*ay boss.

A voice all too familiar cuts through the frost and smoke.

*long time no see

image

*

🇩🇮🇩 🇾🇴🇺 🇲🇮🇸🇸 🇲🇪? i’ve been waiting years to do that.

<Sans?>

The ex-assistant shrugged to himself, a little too casually for the older skeletons tastes. *Didn’t really feel as satisfying as I hoped it would.

He admitted with sigh. *You being crippled an’ recovering from the last time you had your ass handed to you… really takes the fun out of it.

Sans shrugged his shoulders and glared at Void as he began to pull himself back up before continuing.

*…The timeline is finally unlocked. Finally catching up yanno. Cy got real fucked up. Babyteeth is real torn up, blaming himself. The fucking flower… That crazy ass shattered gaster…

*…But I want to cover my bases here boss. Gotta make sure.

*Gonna ask you real nicely too.

*Did you have a hand in any of this?

The moment the former scientist collected his bearings, he felt the all too familiar sensation of anger fill him. <Did I have… what right do you have to accuse me?!> he seethed out. <Attacking from behind like a coward, then making baseless accu->

*baseless! Sans bursted out in joyless laughter, before his mood darkens once more. *..we were supposed to forget who you were when you fell. Not you.

Silence.

*…but fine. I can buy that you had nothing to do with this.

Void scoffed. <How generous of you.>

Edgy just shrugged, his voice dripping with sarcasm. *I know, right?

*..Anyways. Like I said. The timeline is unlocked. This is the part where you can fuck right the back off into that void of yours.

Void doesn’t respond. Edgy just frowns.

*…Fine. But a fair warning boss. I don’t care how much red you squeeze out of your eyes. I don’t care how many people think you turned over a new leaf. I’m keeping an eye on you.

*So watch your fucking back.

And with that. Sans disappeared from sight.

a-void-gaster:

My lack of worry at the time wasn’t due to me being some sort of optimist. In situations like this, it’s best to think of the worst possible outcomes before assuming anything pleasant. At least then you’re prepared. At least then you’d have a plan.

I saw no reason to worry. Not yet. The worst possible thing… the worst possible thing that could happen to Cyprus was death.

…But the fates. Oh. How they love to prove me wrong.

To put it harshly. The word ‘Abomination’ would sum up the situation perfectly.

To put it gently. The word ‘tragic’ would be more befitting.

The boy won’t wake up. I cannot tell if that is for the best or not. Sans and his father were distraught. I did not even think to chastise either of them this time. A situation like this, is impossible to plan for. To brace against. To think that flower… that little empty shell of a ‘prince’ had…

By the kings crown…

His soul.

What has happened to his soul.

I am terrible at comfort. I could listen all day, but my words are too rigid for delicate situations. But I cannot believe him for a moment when Wings said that he was fine.

I despise making promises I cannot be certain of keeping. But I made one anyways.

<It will be fine.>

Only time will tell however. Until then. We wait.

Together.

a-void-gaster:

As Wings and Sans made their way in the direction of the ruins, Void entered the brothers home alone. He made sure to kick as much snow as he could back outside before shutting the door, trying to not think too much of the situation.

It wasn’t as if it was unlike ‘Cyprus’ to run off on his own. It wasn’t as if he could of gotten far. If the timeline was locked, there was only so many places he could be and he hadn’t even been gone for all that long anyways.

The situation was stressful enough. They didn’t need to start fabricating new reasons to be concerned.

At that thought, Void began to feel a bit crossed at the Papyrus. Running off like that without a word. He scoffed to himself as he walked over to a dusty little table that held a stone on plate. He was sure of it. Positive that the fool would come bumbling back inside with excuses, unknowing of how much strain he had placed already on his easily panicked family.

If he did return, without crossing paths with hs father or brother first, Void supposed he should give him a piece of his mind. Something along the lines of ‘this situation is dangerous enough without everyone getting scattered across the Underground’ or maybe ‘couldn’t you of waited just two minutes longer?’

He takes the pet rock in right hand and gave it a small toss and a catch. Regardless of ‘Cyprus’ reason, he still was not back. This wasn’t just him looking for a cell signal. perhaps he had…

A cell signal.

They couldn’t reach the other timelines but… they should still work locally, right? Void let out a chuckle. <If we just tried calling him from the start, we could of avoided this mess…> he mused to himself.

There was a chance his idea might not work for him specifically. Out of the entire party, he was the only one that didn’t truly belong here. He never existed in this timeline at all. His phone might not work at all.

Even so he reached for it, tossing the rock to his left hand to free his right… only to have the rock to continue on sailing in the air until it cracked against the hard wood floors. The ex-Scientist had to wince at the impact, silently cursing his ‘phantom arm’ syndrome.

Void knelt down to pick the stone back up when another sound, a much less expected one filled the air. Something like a wounded animal.

Something… not right.

imcomedic-sans:

He returned the smile, a little more genuine than the one that had already been on his face. To hear his father reassure him really did help, it eased his own worries, if only a little, and think clearly.

Maybe he really was worrying for nothing.

“yeah, good idea. maybe we should split up and cover more ground? i’ll go toward waterfall, and you can check toward the ruins. you’ll be less likely to be seen, it’s more secluded over there.”

A smile from Sans ought to ease any worry, that’s how it went– but it wasn’t so. Outside was snowing harder than it may on a regular night cycle, dark by the cave ceiling that afforded no moonlight, and all this compounded on top of the timeline acting up.

It wouldn’t do to find Cyprus and have to turn around and find the other brother.

@a-void-gaster·

Void echoed his thoughts, voice coming from his place on the inn’s bed, saving him from drawing up a reasonable answer to cover fear’s trail. <No splitting up. This timeline is glitching. It’s dangerous.>

<Both of you go together, and I will wait here in the event Papyrus shows himself.>

Wings nodded at him– grateful that Void was here to help him. He and Sans were the reigns that kept him from the worst of his decisions.
